ABACUS AND ITS BENEFITS
  • The brain can be divided into two segments, the left brain which controls reading, writing, logical thinking and reasoning skills and the right brain, which is responsible for artistic senses, creativity and three dimensional visualization skills.
  • Abacus training does just that, it develops both sides of the brain by making the child use, both his and her hands to move the colorful beads, while visualizing the problem and its solution in the brain
  • Abacus training can help your child improve concentration, development of skills such as photographic memory and  will not only grow in terms of confidence and mental calculation but will also develop numerous other skills such as improving observation powers, concentration, memory ,speed and accuracy and much more.

1. WHAT ABOUT THIS.?
  • The abacus (plural abaci or abacuses), also called a counting frame, is a calculating tool that was in use centuries before the adoption of the written modern numeral system and is still widely used by merchants, traders and clerks in Asia, Africa, and elsewhere. Today, abaci are often constructed as a bamboo frame with beads sliding on wires, but originally they were beans or stones moving in grooves in sand or on tablets of wood, stone, or metal. The user of an abacus is called an abacist.

2. HISTORY OF ABACUS
  • The Abacus invented by the Chinese during the 11th century also known as the counting frame, is a calculating tool that was in use in the ancient times before the adoption of the written modern numeral system. The Abacus normally has a frame with a divider bar and a number of beads above and below the bar. The number of beads above and below the bars were repeatedly modified many times to arrive at the present form.
  • The latest version of the abacus has one bead above the divider bar and four beads below. We are using this model in our class to train the students.primarily The abacus has been used from the days of yore as a calculating tool. Abacus usage has proved over a span of time to hone a number of mental skills such as the ability to visualize, concentrate, memorize, observe and process information quickly. A better understanding of how the seat of mental skills in our brain is organized would give a clear picture of how using an abacus impacts these skills.
